Did you know that over 7 days’ worth or video are uploaded to YouTube every minute? The most watched clip of all time is one called Baby Shark Dance, which has been viewed 12 billion times. It lasts 2 minutes 17 seconds and features two children singing the words ‘Mummy shark, doo doo doo doo; Daddy shark, doo doo doo doo; Grandma shark, doo doo doo doo…’ – believe me, unless you are 3 years old, you are not missing much.
Twelve billion is, by the way, 50% more than the entire population of the planet, quite a few of whom have probably never even heard of YouTube. So, er, I am guessing some 3-year-olds have been watching Baby Shark Dance on a loop.
Well, so far, my channel has only notched up a piffling 70 million views. 70M is still greater than the population of France mind you. Or, put another way, the combined population of Togo, Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Libya, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Serbia, Bulgaria and the Republic of the Congo. And now I have two new videos to show them: one with me performing with my Orkestra in German (plus English subtitles, phew!) and one in which we try to play all 9 Beethoven Symphonies in 4 minutes. Frankly, if I’d been a bit more commercial about it, I might have had two kids up front singing ‘Mummy shark, doo doo doo doo etc, but here is always time to re-edit.
To catch them in their unadulterated form, click on the images below. After all, why miss out on stuff that the entire population of Laos takes totally for granted?
